Modified Medical Images
Advancing age and a number of health diagnoses have affected my working
practices. Parkinson’s Disease and prostrate cancer investigations have
required medical imaging as part of the diagnostic procedures and
confirmation. MRI and nuclear imaging produced several interesting series
of images that I have used to observe the inner spaces of the brain and
body. This has helped me come to terms with the various diagnoses and to
express my emotional reactions to them. My view is that of some (see
also 3d Scans Gallery) become universal expressions to adversity as well
as being specific to me. Some of the single images in a sequence are
combined to provide a 3D representation using software. Colour is also
added and some images have been taken into generative art software to
create interesting effects. Some sequences lend themselves to other
interpretations that I will continue to investigate.
